Boxing Day Ride. Well what can we say the first organized day when the Club members met unofficially to join in what can only be described as an Excellent Feast of biking Madness which went off without any problems and was a real success thanks to the way the members rallied around and seamlessly (well nearly) organized a timed practice run. With seamless uplifts, thanks in part to Andy for the van and to Mr Edges time for being the white van man driver. No sooner had we all got in the van than we we're getting out at the top of the uplift.

After arriving at the track reasonable early well 10:30 to be exact I managed to get in a respectable 7 runs before the officially timed run at around 13:00. All the riders were running well some better than others. I had managed to have more than a few offs before the race even started and thought I'd come off lightly after a really good crash which saw me sitting on the side of the track for around 10 minutes just trying to get my breath back. It has to be said side impact on the SP2 wouldn't go amiss I thought that this was my only injury till I arrived home later that day to what can only be described as a serious car crash injuries to my thighs one of which had swollen to the size of a tennis ball, now two weeks on and the swelling has gone down but the bruises have been the best they started red and blue then black and blue now they look worse than ever with green, yellow, red and blue all mixed in making my thigh look more like a piece of art work for some third year Art College student All the same it was well worth the suffering and as for the rest of the riders......................Well I could write all day Jamie Eds had 2 good falls on his timed run much to the crowds pleasure and J's dismay he'd had some really good runs before that happened needless to say it went from bad to worse, as he came off once again that I know of and may have been more.

Baz had the fastest run of the day and rightly so I saw Baz walking the course one last time before his run looking for every racing line, stump, root and branch he could work to his advantage and rightly so he came in with a time of 2:01:30. Andy on the other hand got on the his bike and hit it with real determination and came in 2:03:96 . it was at this point the water starts to get a little bit muddy. Unfortunately as this was not an official race of any kind merely a bunch of guys wanting to know what time they could run the course in, there was technical difficulties with the stop watches...........namely 2 mobile phone with buttons the size of a flea and Joe's time got missed so the time keeper knocked some time off leaving him with a good time of 2:10:90 which at the time seemed a really good idea and no one minded till Justin had his run and came in at 2:10:57 which then meant it was only fair to give them both 3rd place as either of them could have really won? Well its just one of those things we'll never know.......here's always the rest of the year to find out and it 'All be great going into our first official race of the season with a few scores to settle.
By the way for those of you that were up there on the day and helped me look for my lost gloves................. what can I say other than when you take your wife with you to the track tell her to leave all of her tiding up behind you skills at home just for the day. I love my wife but when I went to got changed after a shower at my mother inlaws..................what could I do other than laugh.............. A really good day was had by all and next year I'm sure we'll have an official Boxing Day Race For ALL.
